Cornerstone Church has been partnering with La Segunda Iglesia Evangelica y Reformada Church and La Patria School in Honduras since 2003. There are many ways that you can be a part of the partnership that we have with the community there.
Honduras Mission Trip
The Summer Honduras Mission Trip will be
June 15 – June 24, 2018.
Next summer’s trip will mark the 15th year of a partnership with La Patria School in San Pedro, Sula. Cornerstone and friends have been sponsoring students at this school for 14 years. It is more than just a mission trip, it’s a continuation of a long-standing partnership!
If you would like to learn more about the trip or how you can help make a difference, please contact Bekah Miller.
Deposit of $100 (non-refundable) AND Application due January 8th
For the past 15 years, Cornerstone Church has been partnering with La Segunda Iglesia Evangelica y Reformada Church and La Patria School in Honduras, and we are excited next summer to continue our partnership and investment in what is going on there.
While we are there, we will be doing a wide-variety of things including: VBS, building and clean-up projects, connecting with people from the church and the school, putting together food distribution packets for those in the community around the church, and whatever else we can do to bless the people in the school and the church.
What do I need to do to secure a spot?
You need to turn in your $100 deposit by January 15th AND an application. This deadline helps us secure plane tickets, housing, as well as the ability to start planning as a team for what specifics will happen during the trip. Your application will allow us to know better who is on our team and allows us to start planning our ministry opportunities.
Will I need a passport or any other forms to travel to Honduras?
Yes. You will need to have an up-to-date passport in order to get into Honduras and back into the United States. If you are a minor, you will also need to have a Parent Permission form signed and notarized before you can travel out of the country.
You can find information about how to obtain a passport at http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports.html
***It can take up to 6 weeks to get your passport, so the sooner you start, the less you will stress about this.***
Note: The cost for the passport is not included in the overall cost of the trip. You will need to cover this cost on your own.
Are there any medical shots or medications that I need to take in order to travel to Honduras?
Yes. The CDC recommends that you are up-to-date on all of your routine vaccinations. In addition, it is recommended that you also be vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Typhoid. We strongly encourage you to meet with a travel physician to see what they would recommend for you based on your health history.
Note: The cost for shots and medications is not included in the overall cost of the trip.
Is there a payment schedule?
Yes. In order to alleviate the stress of getting to the week before we leave and having to pay a large amount of money, we are setting up a payment plan. If you are not able to make a payment on the due date, please contact Bekah immediately to discuss an alternative plan.
